How to Prepare Pomegranate Peel Tea and Reasons to Drink It

Scientists claim that the peel of fruits contains various nutrients. So, they recommend that we should consume fruits without peeling them, if possible of course.

However, there is not easy to eat the peels of fruits, such as pomegranate peels. Fortunately, you can turn them into tea and obtain the nutrients they contain.

The best thing is that it is very easy and simple to prepare this refreshing pomegranate peel tea. Whenever you eat pomegranates, just wash the peels in running water and place them in a freezer-safe container.

Keep in the freezer. This will allow you to accumulate lots of pomegranate peels that you can turn into powdered pomegranate peel tea.

Follow these steps to turn those frozen pomegranate peels into tea:
You should take the pomegranate peels out of the freezer and neatly arrange them on a large tray and cover with a piece of fine mesh.

Place under the sun for a few hours until the peels become dry and crisp. In a case you have a dehydrator you can use it to dry them.

Once the pomegranate peels are completely dry and crisp, use your fingers to break them into smaller pieces. You may use a blender or coffee grinder for pulverizing pomegranate peels.

After you have pulverized everything, transfer to an airtight container. Place it in the refrigerator.

To prepare a cup of pomegranate peel tea, add a heaping teaspoon of your pomegranate peel tea in a cup of hot water. Let it steep for a few minutes then strain. Add honey or squeezed lemon juice to taste.
